I think Christmas is probably one of the easiest things to Steampunk and am generally surprised that there isn't more done with it. I'd really love to see some cobbled together pipework trees decorated with clockwork ornaments and propelled in some fanciful way by a coal powered steam engine (You hear me? Go to!), or perhaps a tiktok Santa in his Christmas airship! Instead I get ixykix's victorian prints with Christmas banners stuck on card stock. These aren't exactly awful, but I think a little bit more effort would be nice! (That said, I'm still a sucker for airship prints)

The most creative offering of the Etsy bunch isn't even intentionally Steampunk, but I'll take what I can get:

This slightly steamy snowman is courtesy of GingerDead who is a lot more goth than she is Steampunk. Honestly, the only thing steamy about the snowman is his monocle and he could have done with a set of brass pipe arms, but it's still beautiful and accompanied by one of my favorite holiday greetings.
I suppose I can't complain *too* much; it isn't like I'm wandering around designing beautifully Steampunk Christmas cards and I probably won't start now. I give ixykix props for even making the attempt when it appears nobody else is. Perhaps I'll have more luck next year.. In the meantime, I think I need to find a clockwork stamp or two for my own cards....
